Ti’ Punch Cocktail Recipe – Traditional Agricole Rum Drink

Traditional Ti’ Punch drink with lime and cane sugar

Ti’ Punch is a traditional cocktail from the French Caribbean, made with rhum agricole, sugar, and lime. Known for its simplicity and bold flavour, it’s a staple in Martinique and a true expression of agricole rum.

What is Ti’ Punch?

Ti’ Punch (short for “petit punch”) is a classic Caribbean cocktail typically made with agricole rum, cane sugar, and lime. Unlike many cocktails, it’s often prepared directly in the glass and adjusted to personal taste.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz agricole rum (unaged or lightly aged)
  • 1 tsp cane sugar syrup (or raw sugar)
  • 1 lime wedge or a few drops of lime juice

Traditionally made with fresh-cut lime rather than bottled juice.

How to Make a Ti’ Punch

  • Add sugar and lime to a glass
  • Stir gently to release oils and dissolve sugar
  • Add rum
  • Adjust to taste

There’s no strict recipe — each Ti’ Punch is made to personal preference.

Why Agricole Rum Matters

Agricole rum is made from fresh cane juice rather than molasses, giving it a brighter, more complex flavour.

Our estate-grown sorghum-based agricole brings a uniquely Canadian take to this classic Caribbean cocktail — bold, clean, and expressive.
