Best Coast Distillers Unveils Canada’s First Agricole Rum
Hand-harvested and estate-grown on Vancouver Island, this small-batch rum is a game-changer for Canadian spirits
Vancouver Island, BC – Best Coast Distillers is making history with the launch of Canada’s first Canadian Estate Grown agricole-style rum, hand-crafted from fresh sorghum juice and aged in French oak. grown, harvested, fermented, and distilled on Vancouver Island’s Mediterranean-like micro climate, this bold new spirit follows the French Caribbean tradition while remaining uniquely Canadian.
“Creating an Agricole Rum in Canada is unheard of,” says Cory Hastings, one of the founders of Best Coast Distillers. “Our island’s mild climate allows us to cultivate sorghum cane—a crop typically grown in much warmer regions—and produce a terroir-driven rum unlike anything else in the country.”
A labour-intensive process, Agricole Rum is made directly from fresh-pressed cane juice rather than molasses, resulting in a more vibrant, complex spirit. The first batch has been carefully aged in French oak, developing rich, grassy, and oaky notes perfect for sipping or enjoying in classic cocktails like the Ti’ Punch.
Best Coast Distillers’ initial Agricole Rum is available in limited quantities, with pre-orders now open. For more details, visit www.bestcoastdistillers.com or follow @BestCoastDistillers on social media.
